IN HER OWN NATIVE TONGUE
In volume one of a three volume set of poetry, prose, and free verse, 180 original poems showcase the use of humor, sarcasm, humility, romance, and candor to display everyday life in America.
Selections from the book have appeared in national print media, have attained literary awards, and have been broadcast on National Public Radio. Poetry from the section/chapter In The Spirit of Truth has been copied and distributed (with permission) by hospitals, hospices, and recovery centers. The twelve works of prose in the section The Brave Among Us describe and
are dedicated to our country’s veterans and active military personnel.
The poetry is divided by topic into nine sections which include In The Year Of The Skunk, wherein all verses are dedicated to victims of domestic violence. The author’s favorite section is Love Or Something Of That Genre and she has received most favorable reviews for The Legacy, The Mother Road, and Seasons of Life.
